Travel to Asia for a warm winter vacation!

  • Dec. 15th, 2008 at 11:28 AM

If you are someone who prefers warm sunny weather, Asia travel will be a perfect winter get-away. My personal preference is warm sunny weather throughout the year and for that reason I like to live in the warm mostly sunny areas of the west coast.

With the economy at a downtown, less people are traveling this year so my travel agent was able to find me a cheap Asia ticket for Christmas break throughout the New Year. My first destination was to travel to Japan. Japan is amazing with a wide range of things to see and a plethora of activities to do. It has the best of both worlds in terms of advance technology and culture. Japan should definitely been on your top places to visit list.

After my stay in Japan, I planned another week aside to travel to Philippines. The Philippines is made of many islands and is absolutely beautiful. The weather was much warmer than Japan, so I was able to relax out on the white sandy beaches every day. The locals there are very friendly with welcoming hospitality which is why the Philippines are known as “The Smile of Asia.”

Japan is a country that has the best of both worlds in terms of advance technology and culture. There are various tourist attractions for history, culture, shopping, zoos, parks and beautiful gardens. I took great advantage of my stay in travel to Japan and filled every day with different activities, great food and different attractions.

After my stay in Japan I decided to travel to Philippines. Made of 7,108 Islands, the Philippines were known as “The Smile of Asia” due to its hospitality. Boracay is one of the most popular beach islands for tourists who like to relax in the sun. Boracay has the most beautiful white sandy beaches I have ever seen as well as a night life and water sports available.

Wherever you plan your exotic Asia travel, make sure to do research and plan out where you would like to go and what you would like to see so that you don’t waste any time during your trip.

Things to Do While You Travel in Japan

travel to Japan
If you find yourself traveling in Japan this summer, the must see event of the year is the 2008 Fuji Rock Festival running Friday July 25th until Sunday July 27th. Originally inspired by Britain’s Glastonbury Festival, the Fuji Rock Festival acquired its name due to the first event in 1997 being held on the foot of famous Mt Fuji. Since 1999, the annual festival has been held in Naeba in Niigata prefecture, 200 km north-west of Tokyo. The atmosphere is amazing and unique, high up in the mountains. It is a ski resort during the winter, and even for those who don’t necessarily like rock music, it offers plenty to do and see for those who
travel to Japan. Dragondola, the world’s longest Gondola lift will take you to the top of the mountain overlooking the festival site, enabling you to fully appreciate the area’s natural beauty.

It is probably the world’s cleanest, most friendly, and beautifully scenic outdoor musical festival in the world. Fans travel from all over Asia and the world to watch the many bands on several stages. There’s even a hot spa loaded with soaps and shampoos.

It is suggested to arrive to the festival by way of Tokyo. Asia travel is an experience all its own, unlike any other. For international travelers, who travel to Tokyo, it is suggested to see all the sights and sounds here, before traveling on the JR Shinkansen, reaching speeds up to 300 km/h . From Tokyo Central Station you will arrive at Echigo-Yuzawa Station after the 80 minute rocket ride, where a free shuttle bus will transfer you to the festival. Sometimes it is cheaper to find discount tickets to Japan if you land in Tokyo first and then travel by train everywhere else.

For first time musical festival participants, the Fuji Rock Festival is a perfect place to get your feet wet. Walking from stage to stage, witnessing all the greatest talents, the beautiful scenery, experiencing all the good clean fun, and riding the Japan Rail makes for an incredibly unique experience you’ll never forget.

For more information on the Japan Rail pass rates and timetables, as well as discount tickets to Tokyo, Thailand, Philippines, and the rest of Asia subcontinent, Europe. U.S. Domestic, and other countries, visit http://www.gatewaylax.com/.

travel to Japan

From the Herald News:

Fourth-grade students in Michael Schuelke’s class at Freedom Elementary School may not travel to Japan anytime soon. But if they ever do decide to go, they will be well-researched travelers.

Each student is completing a travel brochure to the country.

The brochures must highlight visits to at least two of Japan’s main islands and include a three to five-day itinerary for someone to follow during their visit.

Each brochure also includes a hand-drawn map of Japan with labels and the route of travel, main regions, top five cities by size, a map legend and three pictures.

Information in the brochure also included facts about the capitol, population, languages spoken, currency, imports and exports, national symbols and main holidays. Each student has also created a name and slogan for their travel companies. Discount Asia Travel for example, with fun and creative slogans.

Schuelke got the idea to teach this subject from his Asia travel experience.

In the fall of 2005, Schuelke toured Japan for three weeks as one of 200 educators from the United States selected to attend through the Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program. The program educates American educators on international and Japanese education systems.

Through their research, the students are being required to compare characteristics of culture as reflected in language, literature, the arts, traditions and institutions, Schuelke said.

Planning a trip to Japan is not always affordable, however. For discount tickets Tokyo Japan, Thailand, Philippines, and the rest of Asia subcontinent, visit http://gatewaylax.com.

Your Dream Vacation: Japan

  • Mar. 15th, 2008 at 1:59 PM

Japan is such a fascinating country, but it has the reputation of being one of the most expensive countries for travel. This, however, is a myth, for there are many ways for the budget traveler to save money and still see all the amazing sights The Land of the Rising Sun has to offer. Having never been, but always curious about, I asked a friend who's husband lives and works in Tokyo, and whom she visits fairly often. She told me, the trick is to first find a place that offers discount airfare Japan. These places do exist! Many travel companies specialize in tickets to particular areas of the world, working with specific airlines, hotels, and transportation services to and from these areas. For example, Gateway Tourist, Inc. located in Downtown LA specializes in low cost airfares to and from Japan, as well as fares to the rest of Asia, Europe, U.S. Domestic, and other countries. Cheap tickets to Tokyo, Osaka, Okinawa, and everywhere in between, roundtrip, and non-stop from Los Angeles are available here. The next step, my friend told me, is to get a Japan Rail Pass, which is by far, the most reliable, convenient, quick and affordable way to travel throughout Japan. These famed "bullet trains" are an adventure all on their own, but you can't buy the rail passes in Japan, so buy them when you get your tickets. As far as accommodation goes, your travel agency would have several affordable hotel listings, but make sure you research youth hostels as well, which are ideal for budget student travelers. Finally, make sure you always bow, say please, "ku-da-sai" and thank you "arigato," and eat lots of sushi, for the variety and freshness is unrivaled.
